G Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn
Note: Do not join rounds with sl st. Mark beginning of each round to keep track unless otherwise instructed.
2sctog- two single crochet together (decrease)
ch- chain
mr- magic ring
sc- single crochet
sl st- slip stitch
st- stitch
Eye Sockets
(Make 2)
Round 1: 6 sc in mr. (6 sc)
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc)
Round 3: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts* Repeat * to * to end. (16 sc)
Round 4-6: 1 sc in each st around. (16 sc)
End off and weave in ends.
Brain Pan
Round 1: 6 sc in mr. (6 sc)
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc)
Round 3: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st* Repeat * to * to end. (18 sc)
Round 4: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 2 sts* Repeat * to * to end. (24 sc)
Round 5: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 3 sts* Repeat * to * to end. (30 sc)
Round 6: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 4 sts* Repeat * to * to end. (36 sc)
Round 7: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 5 sts* Repeat * to * to end. (42 sc)
Round 8: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 6 sts* Repeat * to * to end. (48 sc)
Round 9: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 7 sts* Repeat * to * to end. (54 sc)
Round 10: In front loop only 1 sc in each st around. (54 sc)
Round 11: 1 sc in each st around. (54 sc)
Stop and position the eye sockets anywhere along the outside edge of the brain pan opposite the marker that marks the beginning of the row. With white yarn stitch the four bottom sc of the first socket to four sc along the edge of the brain pan. Skip five sc and repeat with the second socket. End off and weave in ends.
Nose Bridge
Row 1: Attach new strand of white yarn in the first sc to the right of the left eye socket. Ch 1, sc in first st and in next 4 sts. (5 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, skip first sc, 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2sctog in last 2 sts. (3 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, skip first st, 2sctog in last 2 sts. (1 sc)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in st. (3 sc)
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in last st. (5 sc)
End off. Attach nose bridge to 4 sc on the inside edge of each socket. Weave in ends.
Continue Brain Pan
Round/Row 12: 1 sc in each st until you reach the first socket.
Row 13: Ch 1, turn, skip first st, 1 sc in each st around until you reach the second socket.
Row 14: Ch 1, turn, skip first st, 1 sc in each st around until you are 2 sts from first socket. 2sctog in last 2 sts.
Row 15: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in each st around until you are 2 sts from second socket. 2sctog in last 2 sts.
Row 16: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in each st around until you reach the first socket.
Stop and sew sides of skull to 4 sc on each outer edge of the sockets. Weave in ends.
Row/Round 17: Mark new beginning of round at one st left of the left socket. Pick up existing loop, 1 sc in each st around (1 sc in each of 4 top sts of each socket.)
Round 18: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st* Repeat * to * across the top of both eye sockets until you reach the first st to the right of the right socket. 1 sc in each st around until the end.
Round 19: *2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 2 sts* Repeat * to * across the top of both eye sockets until you reach the second st to the right of the right socket. **2sctog, 1 sc in next 3 sts** Repeat ** to ** around to the end.
Round 20: *2sctog, 1 sc in next 2 sts* Repeat from * to * to end.
Round 21: *2sctog, 1 sc in next st* Repeat from * to * until you are 3 sts to the right of the right socket. 1 sc in each st around to the end.
End off. Weave in ends
Skull Cap
Round 1: Ch enough chains so that when joined you have a circle that is slightly wider than the opening of the brain pan. Ch 1, 1 sc in each chain around. Join with sl st in beginning chain.
Round 2: Ch 1 *2sctog, 1 sc in next 4 sts* Repeat from * to * to end. Join with sl st.
Round 3: Ch 1 *2sctog, 1 sc in next 3 sts* Repeat from * to * to end. Join with sl st.
Round 4: Repeat Round 3
Round 5: Ch 1 *2sctog, 1 sc in next 2 sts* Repeat from * to * to end. Join with sl st.
Round 6: Ch 1 *2sctog, 1 sc in next st* Repeat from * to * to end. Join with sl st.
Round 7: Ch 1, 2sctog around to end. Join with sl st.
Round 8: Repeat Round 7
End off. Close any remaining hole at the top of the skull cap and weave in ends.
Remaining Skull (Jaw):
Round 1: Place a st marker in the 4th st outside the outside edge of each eye socket. You will need to move these st markers up with each round completed. Using the back loop left on the outside base of the brain pan join white yarn anywhere along the back of the head. Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around.
Round 2: Ch 1, *2sctog, 1 sc in next 5 sts* Repeat * to * until first marker is reached. Between markers on the front of the skull 1 sc in each st to second marker. Repeat * to * to end.
Round 3: Ch 1, *2sctog, 1 sc in next 4 sts* Repeat * to * end.
Round 4: Ch 1, *2sctog, 1 sc in next 3 sts* Repeat * to * end.
Round 5: Ch 1, *2sctog, 1 sc in next 2 sts* Repeat * to * until first marker is reached. 1 sc in each st between face markers. Repeat * to * to end.
Round 6: Ch 1, *2sctog, 1 sc in next 3 sts* Repeat * to * until first marker is reached. 1 sc in each st between face markers. Repeat * to * to end.
Round 7: Repeat Round 6.
Round 8-9: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around.
Stuff the jaw area as firmly as you would like.
Round 10-13: Ch 1, *2sctog, 1 sc in next 2 sts* Repeat * to * to end.
End off. Close any remaining hole and weave in ends.
