Disentombment of the Month

A search through our various stashes, piles, and catacombs reveals many timeworn tokens of our artistic pasts. Some are pretty good, some are agonizingly bad, and some are just plain freaky! Still, we can't help but find amusement in their exhumation.

They say that mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Just keep that in mind with this disentombment.

WAAAAAY back in the day when I had delusions of becoming a video game designer one of our assignments was to come up with the basis for a game. Obviously I wasn’t in the mood to think too hard that day so “Treasure Hunters” was not so quietly ripped off from two major franchises: Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider. To be fair I did figure that Lara Croft wasn’t around during the 1930’s and 40’s when Indiana was busy dodging boulders and running from angry natives, so this would be Trinity Croft, future grandmother to Lara. Makes sense now, right?

Please note the embarrassing use of PrintShop headlines (I’m not sure that program even EXISTS anymore) and the hasty cut and paste (NOT done on the computer- mind you) that really highlight the last-minute-ness of this project. Classy, huh? All the same if someone did make this game I might just play it… after changing my name and identity.

Done in Photoshop...

There are so many things wrong with this I wouldn’t even know where to start. It was for some class assignment I don’t remember too well; some kind of character design exercise.

If you can’t tell, that’s a lot of smudge tool work right there. Ha, ha… ugh.
